General

Our fiberglass doors are the best solution for the longevity issues of traditional wood and steel doors. They are not susceptible to weather damage, require less maintenance, and offer higher performance ratings. We’ve introduced the first door with composite stiles and rails, HydroShield Technology, and composite Polyfiber (PF) Frames to the industry, we offer a full length LVL block for extra security and structure rigidity, and we carry a wide variety of sizes and styles to elevate any home.

Installation, Finishing & Repair

Plastpro doors are primarily designed for residential use. However, we do offer DRS11 in our commercial ADA line, which complies with ADA standards and can accommodate ADA required hardware, such as panic bars, reinforced arm closures, and exit rim devices. You can find more information under the Commercial ADA Series tab, also linked here.

We offer doors in heights of 6’8”, 7’0”, and 8’0” and widths of 2’0”, 2’4”, 2’6”, 2’8”, 2’10”, 3’0”, and 3’6”. We do not make custom sized doors. We do offer Trimmable doors that allow the door to be trimmed up to 1” from each composite stile, ½” from top rail, and 1 ½” from the bottom rail to fit an existing entryway without any reconstruction. You can find more information and available models under the Trimmable Series tab, also linked here.

Plastpro’s Stain Kit contains everything you need to perform a staining job. You may find staining instructions on how to stain a Plastpro door and composite jambs under the Resource tab, or linked here. These kits are available through Plastpro distributors. Please visit the “Where to Buy” tab on our site, or use this link to find a dealer near you for additional info and prices.

For water-based application, we recommend priming and painting Plastpro doors with high quality, acrylic latex-based exterior grade paint. We recommend using Sherwin Williams PrepRite® Bonding Primer with compatible acrylic latex paint for optimal paint adhesion.

Plastpro does not provide any pre-finished products. Pre-finishing and assembly are typically done by door shops, dealers, and distributors.

You should paint your Plastpro door within 30 days of purchasing to sustain the warranty.

Our textured doors (Oak, Mahogany, Rustic, Fir, Knotty Alder, Teak), must be painted or stained within 30 days of purchasing to sustain the warranty. We recommend re-applying a clear top coat every 1-2 years to protect the door from the sun and other weather conditions.

Our Smooth and White Oak doors are paintable. If left unpainted, sun exposure and UV rays may cause unreversible yellowing and/or compromise the integrity of the door through excessive heat absorption. Therefore, Smooth and White Oak doors must be painted within 30 days of purchasing to sustain the warranty. These finishes should be protected with a clear topcoat as well, to prevent damaging heat absorption.

Plastpro does not sell pre-hung door units; therefore, we do not provide finishing parts and hardware such as hinges, knobs, and thresholds for our doors. These parts are often provided by door shops, dealers, and distributors. We recommend you contact the store where you purchased your Plastpro door for the most accurate information.

Please see our care and maintenance page, linked here, for detailed information. Plastpro doors will save you a lot of maintenance time, when compared to traditional wood and steel doors, but there are a few steps you can take to keep them looking their best.
