Los Angeles Times – CEOs Giving Back to Los Angeles While Taking the LPGA Tour to New Heights

Shirley and Walter Wang, CEOs of Plastpro and JM Eagle respectively, have significantly impacted the LPGA Tour and their Los Angeles community through their philanthropic efforts. By doubling the purse of the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro to $3.75 million and providing additional support such as travel stipends and accommodations, they’ve elevated the tournament’s status, earning it the 2024 LPGA Tournament of the Year award. Beyond golf, the Wangs have pledged $6.5 million to support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in Los Angeles, offering complimentary tournament tickets to affected families, first responders, and military personnel. Their initiatives also focus on youth engagement, with free entry for juniors and dedicated events like Junior Golf Day, aiming to foster a new generation of golf enthusiasts
