Why Fiberglass?

Unlike many of our competitors, Plastpro’s fiberglass doors are engineered to stand the test of time with a high-performance, proprietary formula that resists the harshest elements and corrosive agents. Our doors require minimal maintenance—no splintering, denting, warping, rotting, or rusting. This outstanding durability not only extends the life cycle of each door but also reduces waste, conserves manufacturing resources, and lowers long-term maintenance costs.

Beyond performance, our fiberglass doors offer exceptional appearance and energy efficiency. With a wide range of panel configurations and unique grain options that can be painted or stained, Plastpro allows you to customize your door to fit your vision while enhancing the security and overall look of your home. We provide a cost-effective solution that never compromises on performance, style, or long-lasting value.

2004

Builds the world’s first fully automated fiberglass door factory, a 250,000 square-foot facility in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Fiberglass in Ashtabula

So why is Plastpro’s manufacturing facility located in Ashtabula, Ohio? Ashtabula is historically known as the heart of the fiberglass industry. Since the 1950s, the region has been a key player in fiberglass production. In 1953, Chevrolet launched the iconic Corvette, featuring a body reinforced with molded fiberglass—manufactured right in Ashtabula. Since then, fiberglass products, from Corvettes to Mack Truck hoods, shower surrounds to bulletproof composite jackets, have been crafted in the area.

Given this longstanding expertise, it only made sense for Plastpro to establish its manufacturing plant in Ashtabula, where the most experienced fiberglass workers have lived and worked for decades. With a highly skilled workforce and a rich history of fiberglass innovation, Ashtabula provides the ideal environment for Plastpro to continue producing high-quality, durable fiberglass doors.

Standards & Testing

The reputation for superior products in the industry is built on our commitment to quality, safety, and performance. Standards and testing are particularly crucial for fiberglass doors, as they must endure harsh weather conditions, provide security, and deliver long-lasting durability. That’s why every Plastpro door undergoes extensive research and testing to ensure it surpasses industry standards. We stay up to date with evolving building codes and partner with independent third parties to conduct rigorous testing.

Beyond just meeting these standards, we go above and beyond with our in-house testing, pushing our products to exceed safety, performance, and durability benchmarks. This comprehensive approach ensures our doors provide unmatched reliability, and our confidence in their quality allows us to offer warranties that reflect our dedication to customer satisfaction.
