Plastpro updates on COVID-19

The health and wellbeing of our employees and customers, as well as that of our local communities, is always our number one priority. We’ve implemented necessary changes to respond to the situation.

COVID-19 has expanded into the United States at a rapid pace and has significantly impacted businesses including our own.

On behalf of everyone at Plastpro, we hope you are doing well and that you and your loved ones are safe during these times. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that have been affected by this virus. And we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments for implementing necessary changes to keep us safe and healthy.

At Plastpro, we are concerned about the well-being and health of our customers, employees, and the world as a whole. Hence with the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the speed at which things are changing, we have made some changes and want to keep you updated on what we are doing to respond to the situation.

In order to enact social distancing and limit interactions between people, our head quarter office in Los Angeles will be officially closed starting 5:30pm March, 20th, 2020 due to the state emergency order. All of our headquarter staff will be working remotely from home.

We have taken the following steps to ensure that we continue to provide our customers with the level of service you are accustomed to in working with our team. Each team member will have remote access and will have the ability to process all work-related tasks.

Although our HQ is working remote, our manufacturing Ohio Plant, warehouse in Cameron Park, CA, and PF Frame Meadville Plant are still operational. As of March 23, 2020, the state of Ohio has issued a Stay-at-home order to help prevent the spread of the virus. The order will remain in place until April 6, 2020.

Plastpro Inc is considered an essential business as a manufacture/supplier to construction; thus, we are exempt from the order. As a manufacturer, we provide and sell items to other essential business and industries such as hardware stores, construction trades workers, buildings, residential facilities, and construction sites for housing. Thus, our plant will remain open and operable to provide for these industries.

Although the plant will remain open and in operation, the health of our employees is very important to us. We have prepared masks, gloves, and sanitizer for all working employees as well as practicing social distancing. Furthermore, to ensure the highest health standards at the plant, we continuously implement thorough cleaning of all areas and equipment.

Our goal is to always provide for you and your business. We will continue to provide the same level of attention to your purchase orders.

If any changes occur, we remain to be as transparent as possible and will update you as soon as possible.

Plastpro COVID -19 Update: Ohio Plant

The Ohio plant has been shut down until April 15. Please read for more details.

We hope that you are all well and safe during these difficult times.

With COVID-19, we have been making necessary changes as the situation evolves to make sure our employees are safe. For the past couple of weeks, we have implemented the following preventive measures to minimize the risks of contacting the virus inside the plant. We have restricted visitors and vendors inside the facility, checked the temperature of all who enter, provided masks for all working employees, put in place social distancing requirements, added hand sanitizer stations, and enhanced daily cleaning for high touch areas inside the facility.

We regret to inform you, that even with these extensive measures, our Ohio plant had two employees that have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday April 4th.

The safety of our products, employees, and communities remains our highest priority. In addition to the preventative measures we have been practicing, we have implemented the following procedure due to the confirmed case of COVID-19.

The plant has been shut down since Sunday April 5th, to perform a deep cleaning of the plant and equipment based on CDC guidelines and using EPA-approved registered products for COVID-19.

The CDC and health department came and assessed the plant. From their assessment, we are at low risk; however, we are taking precautions and extending the shutdown. We will reopen the plant tentatively on April 15.

With the plant temporarily closed, it will affect lead times as we will gradually resume operations on April 15. The Ohio plant office employees will be working remotely and can be reached by phone or email. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will continue to provide updates.

Consistent with guidance from the CDC and other health authorities, the two employees have been quarantined and have received medical care as necessary. We continued communicate with these two employees daily, and they are on their way to recovery. We all continue to pray for them.

We have taken all necessary steps to identify and notify individuals who have been in contact with the two COVID 19 positive employees and have enforced them to self-quarantine for 14 days. Plastpro will continue to support our employees and are offering base pay to our employees during the shutdown period, as we would like to make sure our employees are still taken care of during this difficult time.

We will continue to monitor with a focus first and foremost on the health and safety of our employees, their families, and communities. We follow or go above and beyond the CDC standards in our facilities to keep employees safe.
